Song from first James Bond movie Dr. No
A melodious song from Dr. No - the first bond movie. Bond girl Ursula Andress (playing Honey Ryder) enters the screen singing this song and literally sets the standards for all future bond girls.
Listen to this.
Lryics:
Underneath the mango tree
Me honey and me can watch for the moon
Underneath the mango tree
Me honey and me make boolooloop soon
Underneath the moonlit sky
Me honey and I can sit hand in hand
Underneath the moonlit sky
Me honey and I can make fairyland
Mango, banana and tangerine
Sugar and ackee and cocoa bean
When we get marry we make them grow
And nine little chil' in a row
Underneath the mango tree
Me honey and me can watch for the moon
Underneath the mango tree
Me honey and me we plan marry soon
Mango, banana and tangerine
Sugar and ackee and cocoa bean
When we get marry we make them grow
And nine little chil' in a row
Underneath the mango tree
Me honey and me can watch for the moon
Underneath the mango tree
Me honey and me we plan marry soon
Underneath the mango tree
Underneath the mango tree
Underneath the mango tree
Underneath the mango tree

Thanks for this song TPH...have you seen all the Bond movies? Which were your favorite and least favorite ones? Mine was "Goldeneye" - the worst one, I thought was "A View to a Kill". Oh yeah, also that horrible O.H.M.S.S with the Aussie Bond (that guy looked like Vinod Khanna)
ReplyDeleteSay, do you by any chance have the song performed by the Pretenders in "The Living Daylights" That was such a cool song, I cannot find it anywhere at all!
Thanks for the song and lyrics. Ursula Andress was a terrific dame. I have seen all Bond Movies and my favorite was Gold Finger. Casino Royale was also terrific. Goldeneye was also very good perhaps its the first that I understood with all its nuances fully. Adibud you are right "view to a kill" was terrible. Moore was 57 when he played bond and it shows.
ReplyDeleteBtw Isabella Scorupco is my fav. bond girl.
Bond fans mark your calenders. "Quantum of Solace" releases on Oct. 31st.
ursula andress is actually ursulla"undress" -))) DDDD
ReplyDeletelolzz lolzz lolzz
Aditya: I haven't seen any of the two timothy dalton's and last three of rojer moore.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite is "from russia with love". the suspense is very intriguing and it also has something for mr. bond in an equal opponent.
OHMSS was a very different kind, almost like a hindi movie with emotional love songs. But that was not bad as you might have noticed the later pierce brosnan starrer "the world is not enough" was slightly looked inspired by that one. skeing in alps and that avalanche. and i noticed one more thing, a painting bond holds in his hand reads "the world is not enough". George Lazenby was only 29 then, and he got to play a more emotional kind of role, to which he was completely incapable of. OHMSS is a movie to remember because in that bond got married and lost his wife to the bullets of his enemy number 1.
I think i can arrange for your favourite song from 'the living daylights'. allow me some time.
Grouchy: gold finger is also one of my favourites. Sean connery is my favourite bond. Those early bond movies had some more suspense and challenge for bond. Now gadgets have overtaken.
ReplyDeleteBut I liked the recent bond daniel craig.
Its very difficult to pick one bond girl. They all look alike at least act wise. what about M or money-penny?
ICC: HOLI is over now. But you don't need holi for this. keep finding more such realities.
ReplyDeleteThanks TPH, by the way, the song I have been searching for so long is "Where has everybody gone?" - it's by the Pretenders. I just thought of mentioning this coz the other Pretenders song from the movie is available on youtube and elsewhere...it's just this song that has proven to be so hard to obtain...
ReplyDeleteThe song placement in the movie was so awesome - it's the background music when Bond is about to jump off the plane.
